O Ricardo é um grande estudioso do Santo Daime e divide aqui um pouco do seu conhecimento analisando a polêmica das recentes inserções da tema na grande imprensa.

Peço licença para fazer uma breve comentário sobre o que penso com respeito a nossa posição enquanto daimistas, frente a estes abusos que temos visto ocorrendo, neste momento com maior frequência, por parte da imprensa brasileira.
A partir dos anos 80, quando o padrinho Sebastião deu início ao processo de expansão da doutrina, a imprensa começa a publicar reportagens sobre o Daime. Mesmo período em que os cientistas das àreas da farmacologia, bioquímica, psicologia, antropologia e sociologia chegam, à convite das Forças Armadas, para estudar os efeitos dessa misteriosa doutrina.
De lá pra cá, anos e mais anos de estudos se passaram e os resultados começaram a chegar. Que se saliente que nenhum deles condenou o uso ritual dessa bebida. Os cientistas muito estudaram e observaram, chegando a verificar, inclusive, os seus muitos benefícios.
Mesmo assim, a grande imprensa pouco se interessou por estes estudos e continuou reproduzindo a estrutura daquelas "velhas" reportagens. Em comum, todas elas trazem tom preconceituoso, citam o Ney Matogrosso, a Maitê Proênça e a Lucélia Santos (que acho que já não aguentam mais serem citados) como ícones que experimentaram o Daime, e todas matérias utilizam as palavras "seita", "alucinógeno" e "droga" como referência. Outra coisa que sempre ocorre, é que vão 'caçar' um ou dois casos de "surtos" e "mortes" para acusar o Daime, sem levar em conta os históricos clínicos e psico-sociais destes indivíduos.
Nesta última decada, inicia-se um novo processo. Primeiramente, em 2004, a ONU reconhece a direito ao uso ritual da ayahuaska, depois, em 2005, o governo brasileiro faz o mesmo através do Ministério da Justiça. Em 2009, é a vez do Ministério da Cultura reconhecer a força dessa manifestação religiosa do Brasil e dar indícios de que será honrada com o título de Patrimônio Imaterial da Cultura Brasileira. Sabe-se também de experiências bem sucedidas sendo realizadas pela faculdade de medicina da USP, da Unicamp, etc...
Bom, escrevi tudo isso apenas para dizer que muito foi constatado e que as pesquisas estão já bem avançadas nesse sentido científico. Não é difícil de encontrar essas referências numa busca do google.
Mas agora, quero fazer uma consideração sobre o que penso que seja o mais importante disso tudo, mas que todas essas reportagens preconceituosas preferem ignorar. O fato é que quem chega ao Daime, vem por curiosidade talvez, ou talvez já na consciência de uma busca espiritual, no entanto, quem fica, fica por amor. Amor à doutrina, aos seus ensinamentos e a suas curas.
Daí que o aval e a liberdade ao Santo Daime quem dá não são os governos federais, a imprensa, o vizinho... o aval quem dá somos cada um de nós, a liberdade nós que conquistamos hoje, ontem e sempre.
Desde os tempos do Mestre Irineu, do Padrinho Sebastião e dos continuadores dessa milenar tradição, somos vencedores nessa jornada! Estamos tomando Daime há 50, 30, 10 ou há 1 ano, e já somos a prova viva de como o Santo Daime vem doutrinando nosso espírito e transformando nossas vidas, trazendo curas em bençãos e nos tornando seres melhores para conosco e para com todos que estão próximos de nós.
No mais, como o ensinamento já nos trouxe "deixa quem quiser falar", cada um com suas tranças... agora, para com nossos familiares que se preocupam conosco e querem nosso bem, para nossos amigos queridos... para estes meus irmãos, vamos buscar boa literatura, bons artigos e estudos que já existe em profusão, para abastecê-los de informações mais precisas.
Mas é só isso, porque para conhecer o Daime só experimentando dele. Não dá pra falar muito, também não dá pra sair convidando, quem quer pede pra chegar e chegando, as portas estão abertas e vai ver se segue ou não.
Então, sem querer me estender mais, quero dizer que se estamos aqui, é porque nos faz bem e apreciamos estar reunidos.
Assim somos felizes, gostamos de cantar e louvar ao Divino, de expandir nossa consciência com liberdade e com respeito, buscar coragem para olhar nossos 'defeitos', nossos maus pensamentos e má atitudes para corrigí-los. Não é fácil, pois este caminho do amor é um caminho para guerreiros!

I ask for permission to do an abbreviation comment on what think with regard to our position while daimistas, in front to these abuses that we have been seeing happening, at this time more frequently, on the part of the Brazilian press.
Starting from the eighties, when the godfather Sebastião led off the process of expansion of the doctrine, the press begins to publish reports on Daime. On this last decade, a new process begins. Firstly, in 2004, UN recognizes to right to the ritual use of the ayahuaska, then, in 2005, the Brazilian government makes the same through the Ministry of the Justice. In 2009, it is the time of the Ministry of the Culture to recognize the force of that religious manifestation of Brazil and to give indications that it will be honored with the title of Immaterial Patrimony of the Brazilian Culture. It is also known about experiences well happened being accomplished by the university of medicine of USP, of Unicamp, etc...
Good, I wrote all this just to say that a lot was verified and that the researches are already very advanced in that scientific sense. It is not difficult to find those references in a search of the google.
But now, I want to do a consideration on what think that is the most important of that everything, but that all those reports preconceituosas prefer to ignore. The fact is that who arrives to Daime, it comes for curiosity maybe, or maybe already in the conscience of a spiritual search, however, who is, it is for love. Love to the doctrine, to their teachings and their cures.
Then that the guarantee and the freedom to Santo Daime who gives are not the federal governments, the press, the neighbor... the guarantee who gives is each one of us, the freedom us that conquered today, yesterday and always.
Since Master Irineu's times, of the Padrinho Sebastião and of the followers of that millenarian tradition, we are winner in that day! We are taking Daime there are 50, 30, 10 or 1 year ago, and we are already the alive proof of like Santo Daime it is indoctrinating our spirit and transforming our lives, bringing cures in blessings and becoming better beings to us and to all that are close of us.
In the plus, as the teaching it already brought " us clue who wants to speak ", each one with their braids... now, to our relatives that worry about us and they want our good, for our dear friends... for my siblings, we will look for good literature, good goods and studies that it exists already in profusion, to supply them of more necessary information.
But it is alone that, because to know Daime only trying of him. It doesn't give for speaking a lot, it doesn't also give for inviting, who it wants leaving asks for arriving and arriving, the doors are open and it will see if it proceeds or not.
Then, unintentionally to extend plus, I want to say that if we are here, it is because it does us well and we appreciated to be gathered.
We are like this happy, we liked to sing and to praise to the Divine, of expanding our conscience with freedom and with respect, to look for courage to look ours ' defects', our bad thoughts and bad attitudes to correct them. It is not easy, because this road of the love is a road for warriors!
