The Clean Record Law is in danger. Last week Congress postponed the vote to give time to "improve" the bill - by which they mean weaken it until it won't effectively bar corrupt candidates from elections.
Dozens of Congressmen are right now responding to criminal charges, so they have good reason to fear this new legislation. They're pulling out all the stops this week to pressure a review commission to weaken the bill -- we have to make sure our voice is louder. Together we've shown massive Brazilian popular support for lei ficha limpa. But now we have to do more -- we have to show the politicians that our support is determined, that it's not going away, and that if they ignore us, there will be a price to pay at election time. The review commission is generally supportive of lei ficha limpa, but each member is likely being offered a deal by other corrupt politicians to weaken the law. We can make them a better offer: if they support lei ficha limpa, they get to keep their jobs.
Let’s flood the review commission with thousands of messages and phone calls, telling them to do the right thing, stand up to corruption, and refuse to weaken the bill. Brazilians want this law, they deserve to have congress vote on it:

In this election year, we have a real collective power to shift politics. O Projeto de Lei Ficha Limpa está em perigo. Semana passada o Congresso adiou a votação com o intuito de dar mais tempo para "aprimorar" o projeto, ou seja, enfraquecê-lo para que ele não remova eficazmente corruptos das eleições.
Muitos parlamentares temem essa nova lei já que dezenas deles respondem a processos na justiça. Eles estão tentando influenciar a Comissão de Constituição e Justiça (CCJ) a enfraquecer o projeto. Juntos, nós mostramos o apoio massivo da população brasileira pela Ficha Limpa. No entanto, precisamos fazer mais -- vamos mostrar aos políticos que estamos determinados, não iremos parar e que se formos ignorados, eles irão pagar o preço nas eleições. A CCJ deveria apoiar o projeto de lei, mas é provável que políticos corruptos estejam tentando oferecer acordos e troca de favores para eles enfraquecerem a Ficha Limpa. Nós podemos oferecer uma proposta melhor: se eles apoiarem a Ficha Limpa, ele poderão manter seus empregos.
Vamos inundar a comissão de revisão com milhares de mensagens e telefonemas pedindo que eles tomem a decisão certa: não tolerar a corrupção e se recusar a enfraquecer o texto. A população brasileira quer essa lei e merecemos que ela seja aprovada pelo Congresso:
